Butch Berry – Unlimited

Good music is not necessarily commercial, nor is it the other way round, but when every part of the puzzle fits so perfectly well, like the ones that this album is made of, the possibilities are “unlimited”!

Add to all of this a cool, dandy looking frontman, who sings, plays and writes the songs, and you’ll find yourself wondering how, in the name of God, this isn’t already on the top of the international charts?!?

You will know what I’m talking about, as soon as you hear the opening Miss Mystery in all it’s Jelly-Beatle-ish glory, with it’s stop’n’start arrangement that will keep you hooked on throughout the record, eagerly waiting for the next thing to happen.

A similar description could be applied to most of the tracks but don’t let that discourage you, cuz there’s no monotony here. In every song you’ll find something that will keep it going, be it the Nazz-y crunch of Giving It All Back To You, the mid-’60s jangle “squeezed” out of Love Come In, a kinda punchier moderndaze “Zombie-heaven” of We Two or the big-crowded balladry of Same Breath, Stranger and Make Me Right.

Since this one is a self-release, here’s a chance for all you record label bosses, to secure yourselves the “next-Decca” status.
