Though all three of their self released EPs are graced with witty, Peggy Moffat-style mod artwork, it’s only with this third one that the “camera” captures THE sound AND the vision.
Not that their Wire/XTC quirkiness and occasional ska “madness” wasn’t good enough, but it wasn’t exactly what I really expected. With these three new ones, they hit right in the middle of the “target”, and are sure to fill the dance floors.
Don’t Sleep In The Subway is an excellent piece of Motown-by-way-of-beat-band, while White On White and Rescue both perfectly fit the Britpop-through-‘80s-mod-revival definition.
A coupla more like these, and the world will be ready for the “photo session”!
