Danna & The Changes – Constant Cacophony

The rural surrounding and the early-Band-like outfit on the cover shot suggests more of a rootsy feel, which is audible throughout the album, but most of it in a power-pop wrapping that should appeal to a much wider range of audience.

The only thing that might be considered “cacophonic” about this is this young Aussie’s songwriting diversity, still made into a pretty “consonant” entirety. He And She, is a Kinky love song, Are You Gonna Take Me Home? could’ve easily fit Big Star’s Radio City, He Was Irrelevant is sure to bring a huge SMiLE onto any Beach Boys fan’s face, while the countryfied pair of Jeanie and I’ll Come Round is the one that fits the above vintage cover art most perfectly.

In case you thought the album might be missing some power-chord rawking, Good Duet is less than a ‘Stones throw away, coming from the time when the ‘60s were just about to turn ‘70s
